GOVERNMENT OF INDIA/MINISTRY OF COMMERCE INDUSTRY OFFICE OF THE ZONAL JOINT DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE NO. 38 39, WHITES ROAD, ROYAPETTAH, CHENNAI-600 014 T R A D E N O T I C E No. 2 DATED: 24.05.2002 Attention of Trade and Industry and Custom House Agents (CHAs) is invited to the provision at page 717 of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, published vide Notification No.2/2002 dated 31.03.2002 , whereby all the exporters are required to indicate the State of Origin of their of the Export Product in their Shipping Bills. The State Code Published therein is annexed for easy reference of the Trade. (Annexure A ) It is informed that indication of the State of Origin of the goods exported will facilitate correct reflection of the export figure of each State. Failure to do so may lead to the rejection of the applications for any export benefits. The Trade and Industry is therefore, advised in their own interest to verify that the Shipping Bills Carry the correct State Code before presentation to Customs.
