Enrolling of Customs Broker with the recognised Customs Broker Association under Regulation 24 of CBLR 2013 — Reg. - Customs - 23/2016

No. VIII/13/21/2014-CBS Date: 09.06.2016 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 23/2016 Sub: Enrolling of Customs Broker with the recognised Customs Broker Association under Regulation 24 of CBLR 2013 - Reg. Attention of all Customs Brokers registered at Custom Station, Tuticorin is invited to the provisions of Regulation 24 of the Customs Brokers Licensing Regulations, 2013 (in short 'CBLR') wherein it has been mandated that ; Each Customs Broker shall enroll himself as a member of the Customs Brokers' Association, if there is one registered in the Customs Station and recognised by the Commissioner of Customs 2. As they are aware the Tuticorin Customs Brokers Association is a registered Association of Customs Brokers and recognized as such by the Commissioner of Customs vide this office Public Notice No. 11/2014, dated 23.07.2014. 3. It has been brought to the notice of this office that many of the Customs Brokers registered in this Custom House have not yet enrolled themselves as members of the said Association. Therefore, it is advised that all the Customs Brokers registered and those of the Customs Brokers who have filed 'Form-C' intimation to this office and thus registered may immediately enrol themselves as members of the said Association in accordance with Regulation of CBLR. A copy of the said enrolment issued by the Association may be forwarded to this office for record. It is also advised that this office has proposed to de-register those CBs who fail to comply with the instant instruction by 15.07.2016.
