Doing away with endorsement & stamping on Custodian's Delivery Order-reg. - Customs - 45/2016Extract Government of India Office of the Commissioner of Customs (Port) Custom House: 15/1, Strand Road: Kolkata-700001 F. No. S106-63/07A(G) Pt. VII/120 Date: 31-05-2016 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 45/2016 Subject: Doing away with endorsement stamping on Custodian's Delivery Order-reg. Representation has been made by National Association of Container Freight Station on behalf of CFS fraternity in Kolkata that once Out of Charge order is given by the officer posted at the CFS, the custodian should be entrusted for the delivery order and gate passes may be issued by the custodian without any further involvement of Customs officer. As per the present practice, the importer/Customs broker is required to show the print out of Bill of entry along with Out of Charge Order and Delivery Order, issued by the custodian to the Preventive Officer, at the CFS gate. Thereafter, the Preventive Officer puts his signature/stamp on the Delivery Order. After that, the delivery of the goods is being taken. The matter has been examined. The request made by the Association to do away with the endorsement on Delivery Order issued by the custodian appears justified. Officers posted at various CFSs are therefore being directed that henceforth endorsing/stamping on the Delivery Order issued by the Custodian shall not be required. Any difficulty in the implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the undersigned. (Dr. N.K Soren) Commissioner of Customs (Port) Custom House, Kolkata
