No. S106-63/07A(G) Pt.VII/176 Date :24-06-2016 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. : 54/2016 Subject : Opening of RMS Facilitated containers for drawal of sample - reg. Attention of importers, exporters, clearing agents and all concerned is invited to the procedure regarding RMS facilitated goods, laid down under Public Notice No. 34/2006 dated 07-09-2006. It is seen that sometimes there is a need to open the container for sampling process and for that purpose Docks/Shed Officers seek permission of Joint/Additional Commissioner before opening and examining the RMS facilitated container. Various allied agencies like FSSAI, AQ, PQ, ADC etc. require the samples. They examine and test these samples before according clearance under their respective Acts. It is therefore, clarified that Docks/Shed Officers, in such cases will open the container for the purpose of drawal of samples. Joint/Addl. Commissioner's permission shall not be required in such cases. Any difficulty in the implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the undersigned. (Dr. N.K.
