De-notification of a part of open area of ‘E’ Shed Grain Depot, at Cotton Green – reg. - Customs - 51/2010

The Collector of Customs, Bombay vide Notification No. 169 dated 15.12.1989 had declared the E Shed Grain Depot and open area to the east of E Shed (Fenced area drawing No. 96/1989) at Cotton Green as Customs Area for storage and examination of cargo and container operations. As a part of improvement of Port connectivity, exclusive roads are being developed by MbPT to facilitate faster movement of container traffic of Offshore Container Terminal. Hence, MbPT has requested to denotify an area of 3405.05 Sq. mtrs (15.10 mtrs X 225.50 mtrs) situated at west side of E Shed Grain Depot to facilitate construction of the exclusive road. Therefore, in exercise of powers conferred on me under Section 8 of the Customs Act 1962, I, S. L. Meena, Commissioner of Customs (General), Mumbai; hereby modify the Notification No. 169 dated 15.12.1989 to the extent that area admeasuring 3405.05 Sq. Mtrs. on West side of open area of E Shed Grain Depot is denotified subject to the following condition: (1) The MbPT will shift the Westside existing fencing of the E Shed Grain Depot towards the E Shed in order to keep the road outside of the Custom Notified area.
