Facilitation Measures introduced in AI-SATS Air Freight Terminal at Air Cargo Complex, Bangalore- Matter reg. - Customs - 39A/2009Extract OFFICE OF THE ADDITIONAL COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS AIR CARGO COMPLEX: DEVANAHALLI BANGALORE -560300 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 39A/2009 CUS Date: 04.07.2009 Sub: Facilitation Measures introduced in AI-SATS Air Freight Terminal at Air Cargo Complex, Bangalore- Matter reg. Attention of the trade and industry is invited to certain measures which have been introduced in the Air India-SATS Air Freight Terminal, with a view to providing improved facilitation to cargo clearances at both the Import and Export Shed. Apart from providing improved facilitation, the measures introduced are aimed at streamlining customs processes and providing greater transparency . Construction involving setting up of counters have been carried out in both the import and export sheds and officers carrying out specific functions in these sheds have been clearly identified and shall function from these designated counters which have been specially created for this purpose. 2. Trade and Industry may kindly note that the customs EDI computer terminals inside the import and export shed have been secured behind these counters and are strictly meant for use only by the customs officers. Representatives of trade and industry involved in customs cargo clearances either directly or through their authorized customs house agents(CHAs)/customs clearing agents shall interact with the customs officials only through the designated counters and under no circumstances will they be allowed entry into the secure area behind these counters. Stringent action will be initiated against any CHA/Customs Clearing Agents found inside the secure area behind these counters and vicarious liability affixed on the agents as well as the organization they represent. CHAs are further advised to ensure that their representatives handling customs cargo/customs documents are possessing valid licenses (G Card/H Card) and identity cards and may take note that strict action will be taken against any person found to be handling customs cargo/customs documents without proper license/identity cards. 3. In order to provide information on the status of the shipping bills/bills of entries, it is proposed to provide additional terminals in both the import and export shed along with touch screen kiosks which can be used by the trade/CHAs etc. (SURESH KUMAR) ADDITIONAL COMMISSIONER
