No. S/3-Prev-Admn.-46/2009 ACC Date: 16.07.2009 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 16/2009 Sub : Application for Getting Approval for Labelling Done Showing Airway Bill Details The trade have been representing that they have been facing inordinate delay and difficulties in accounting of imported package/packages of which the label showing Airway Bill details get detached during transit. 2. If the packages without labels showing Airway Bill (MAWB/HAWB) details have marks and numbers assigned by the shipper and if such marks and number are seen also on the packages with proper labels showing Airway Bill details and the total number of packages agree with those shown in Airway Bill (MAWB/HAWB), then labelling may be done by Airline Agents in the presence of custodian in anticipation of approval by Customs. While labelling the packages, an application in form given in Annexure I should be submitted to the IFO. In case, there is no room for doubt, IFO will give immediate approval. If IFO feels need to check propriety of labelling done, he should immediately on receipt of application go and inspect the packages, record his findings and put up to Asstt. Commissioner of Customs (Admn) for his orders.
