No. VIII/48-200/Cus/T/2008 Dated : 25th August, 2008 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 24/2008 Sub : Procedural requirement for obtaining Export Authorisation Registration of raw cotton (lint), cotton waste (including yarn waste and garneted stock), cotton, carded or combed, with the Textile Commissioner, Mumbai, prior to shipment in terms of Notification No.26 (RE-2008)/2004-2009 dated 22-7-2008 of Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, issued under the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009. Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, had issued a Notification No.26 (RE-2008)/2004-2009 dated 22-7-2008, whereby all export of raw cotton are subject to Export Authorisation Registration procedure with the Textile Commissioner, Mumbai. The export contract must be registered prior to the shipment. The said Notification also covers cotton waste (including yarn waste and garneted stock), cotton, carded or combed in addition to raw cotton (lint). 2. In this regard, a copy of Memorandum-I dated 26.07.2008, issued from F.No. 1/162/2008/Cotton, by the Textile Commissioner, Mumbai, prescribing the terms and conditions for Export Authorisation Registration in respect of raw cotton/cotton waste/cotton, carded or combed, is enclosed herewith for information, guidance and necessary action. 3. All the Trade Associations/Chambers of Commerce and Members of Regional Advisory Committee and Custom House Agents Association are requested to publicise the contents of this Public Notice amongst their Members/Constituents, for their information and necessary action.
