Withdrawal/Procedure relating to issue of TRA/GRA to Jawahar Custom House, Mumbai Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai and CFS Mulund – reg. - Customs - 73/2003

OFFICE OF THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS MUMBAI I, COMMISSIONERATE NEW CUSTOM HOUSE BALLARD ESTATE, MUMBAI 400038 F.No. S/16-Misc-444/03 Gr.VII Dated : 30/6/2003 Public Notice No. 73/2003 Sub: Withdrawal/Procedure relating to issue of TRA/GRA to Jawahar Custom House, Mumbai Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai and CFS Mulund reg. Attention is invited to all Importers, Exporters, CHA and Trade concerned that the procedure for issue of TRA/GRA from New Custom House (NCH) to Jawaharlal Nehru Custom, Mumbai, Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai and CFS Mulund has been reviewed by this Custom House. The existing procedure is being modified for faster clearance of import consignments from Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai, Jawarharlal Custom House, Mumbai and CFS Mulund against the DEPB licence verified by this Commissionerate. The following procedure shall henceforth be followed in modification and suppression of the procedure followed hitherto. NO TRA WILL BE ISSUED BY THIS CUSTOM HOUSE FOR JAWAHARLAL CUSTOM HOUSE, AIR CARGO COMPLEX AND CFS MULUND. The DEPB/DEEC/DFRC licence duly verified by this Custom House having port of registration as New Custom House, Mumbai may be presented by the importer to any of these formations i.e., Jawaharlal Custom House, Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai and CFS Mulund for debiting against payment of duty in respect of their import consignment from now onward. The port of clearance will debit the respective duty amount manually on the original DEPB Script itself and allow clearance of import. After clearance, the Importer/CHA/Authorised person will statutorily submit the original DEPB/DEEC/DFRC script at New Custom House, Mumbai at the licence section for debiting of the utilized DEPB amount in the EDI system. The licence section will debit the utilized DEPB amount in the EDI system and put an endorsement for the same on the original DEPB script under his dated signature along with name and stamp. After debiting the said utilized amount in the system, the original script will again be handed over to the importer/CHA/authorized person. Similarly, in case of GRAs also the above procedure is to be followed for Jawaharlal Custom House, Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai and CFS Mulund henceforth. TRA for other ports will be issued as per existing procedure being followed based on the guidelines of Circular No.85/99-Customs dated 23.12.99 issued vide F.No. 605/114/97DBK.
