No. 450/135/2004-Cus.IV Government of India Ministry of Finance Department of Revenue Central Board of Excise Customs Subject: End of textile quota regime-regarding- As you are aware, the textile quota regime is coming to an end on January 01, 2005 and from this date, there shall be no requirement of Quota Certificate/ Visa/ Export Certificates from the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council (Texprocil) and The Synthetic Rayon Textile Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC). 2. In view of above you are requested to issue necessary instructions to the Customs field formations that the exporters may be allowed customs clearance of textile and readymade garment cargo destined for quota countries without Quota Certificate/ Visa/ Export Certificates for goods which are to be shipped on or after January 01, 2005. Poornalingam, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles for information ____________________________________ 23rd December, 2004 F.No.450/135/2004-Cus.IV Government of India Ministry of Finance Department of Revenue Central Board of Excise Customs Subject: End of textile quota regime-regarding- Representation has been received from the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) requesting for customs clearance facility at all Sea Ports and Airports to keep open on 1 st and 2 nd January 2005 in anticipation of heavy rush of year end shipments without charging over time from the exporters. 2. The same has been considered. It has been decided that Customs Office at all Sea Ports and Airports shall remain open on 1 st and 2 nd January 2005 without charging over time from the exporters. You are requested to issue necessary instructions in this regard. Yours sincerely, Anupam Prakash Under Secretary to the Government of India Ph.-23094182 ___________________________________ 24th December, 2004 F.No.450/135/2004-Cus.IV Government of India Ministry of Finance Department of Revenue Central Board of Excise Customs Subject: End of textile quota regime-regarding- Request has been received from the Ministry of Textiles to accept export documents for processing with effect from 25 th December, 2004 for ships sailing on or after 1 st January, 2005 carrying textiles and readymade garment export cargo, so as to save transaction time of exporters. 2. A letter F.No.450/135/2004-Cus.IV, dated December 23, 2004 has already been issued wherein it was requested to issue necessary instructions to the Customs field formations that the exporters may be allowed customs clearance of textile and readymade garment cargo destined for quota countries without Quota Certificate/ Visa/ Export Certificates for goods which are to be shipped on or after January 01, 2005. 3. The request of Ministry of Textile has been considered. It is requested that necessary instructions be issued to the Customs field formations to accept export documents for processing with effect from 25 th December, 2004 for ships sailing on or after 1 st January, 2005 carrying textiles and readymade garment export cargo.
