Circular/Order Dated 29-07-2016 Income-tax Act, 1961 : Order under section 119 : Extension of due date for filing returns from 31-7-2016 to 31-8-2016 in the State of Jammu and Kashmir On consideration of reports of dislocation of general life in certain areas of the State of Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in exercise of powers conferred under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 ( Act ), hereby extends the due-date for filing returns of income from 31st July, 2016 to 31st August, 2016, in case of Income-tax assessees in the State of Jammu and Kashmir who are required to file their return under section 139(1) of the Act by the said due date .
