VI JNCH Dated: 09.01.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 06/2018 Subject :- Procedure for drawal of samples of Toys after amendment in Policy condition No. 2 to Chapter 95 of ITC (HS), 2017 Schedule 1. Attention of all Importers, Customs Brokers and all concerned are invited to the Public Notice no- 135/2017 dated 30.10.2017 wherein detailed procedure regarding warehousing of Toys has been envisaged. Further, the members of trade have expressed their need of import of toys for test purpose. Hence, following standard operating procedures is prescribed. 2. Any importer desiring to import the toys for test samples may submit an application with a request for drawal of samples from the consignments and will mention the name and address of the NABL certified Lab where the consignment will be tested and should also contain following details: a. number of pieces required for testing (alongwith justification, if more than 02 pieces), b. tests to be conducted. 3. The Appraising officer/ Supdt. will draw sample ( not more than 03 pieces of each item) in the presence of importer/ representative of importer and it should be properly sealed. Thereafter, said sealed samples should be handed over to importer or representative of importer in a sealed condition for onward submission to NABL accredited lab. The importer/ representative of importer will submit the acknowledgment of these samples from the NABL accredited Laboratory within 15 days as a token of having received these samples in sealed condition. 4. The importer will submit a Test Bond equal to the value of goods and opt for warehousing of rest of the goods, if any, in terms of PN 135/2017 dated 30.10.2017 . 5. After receiving the test reports from the lab the importer will file Ex-bond bill of entry and will follow the procedure in terms of Public Notice no- 135/2017 dated 30.10.2017 . 6. Difficulties, if any, faced in implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner in-charge of Group VI (Tel. No. 022-27244711). 7. Action to be taken in terms of decisions taken in this Public Notice should be considered as standing order for the purpose of officers and staff.
