No. S/43-39612005/ P Date: 27.09.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO 123/2017. /27.09.2018 Sub:- Modification in Public Notice No. 109/2000 dated 11.10.2000 - area measuring 33,323.92 Square Meters, from Purple gate to 14 VD in Princess and Victoria Docks is de-notified . The Commissioner of Customs (Import), vide Public Notice No. 109/2000 dated 11.10.2000, had declared the Area enclosed by the Mumbai Port Trust, Docks boundary wall (old as well as new) connecting Naval Dock Yard, Green Gate, Grey Gate, Blue Gate, Purple Gate, White Gate, Orange Gate: Yellow Gate extended up to Mallet Basin , as Customs Notified Area for storage and examination of cargo and container operations. The Mumbai Port Trust is developing a Coastal Passenger Transport Complex by creating facilities like Ro-Ro service for vehicles, as well as passengers (ROPAX), Domestic Cruise Terminal and Marina etc. Since these facilities do not require Customs clearance, the Mumbai Port Trust has proposed to carve out the area of Princess and Victoria Docks and de- notify a part of Customs Notified Area (33,323.92 Square Meters), from Purple gate to 14 VD in Princess and Victoria Docks, to facilitate free movement of domestic cruise passengers and their vehicles. Therefore, in exercise of powers conferred on me under Section 8 (b) of the Customs Act 1932, l, Principal Commissioner of Customs (General), Mumbai, Zone - I, hereby modify the Public Notice No. 109/2000 dated 11.10.2000 to the extent that, area measuring 33,323.92 Square Meters, from Purple gate to 14 VD in Princess and Victoria Docks is de-notified subject to the following conditions: 1. The Mumbai Port Trust will construct the perimeter boundary wall of Mumbai Docks Customs Notified Area . 2. The Mumbai Port Trust will take full responsibility for any incidence that may happen due to the absence of the perimeter boundary wall of 'Mumbai Docks Customs Notified Area , till the completion of construction of a permanent boundary wall. 3. The Mumbai Port Trust shall ensure sufficient lighting during the night time and the temporary boundary wall should be kept under CCTV surveillance 24 X 7 and the CCTV footage to be made available to the Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Preventive) General, as and when required (S.K.DAS) PRINCIPAL COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOM (GENERAL)
