De-notifying a part of Container Freight Station, Virugambakkam - Customs - PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 234/2017

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF FINANCE, DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS, CHENNAI VIII : CUSTOMS HOUSE, No. 60, RAJAJI SALAI, CHENNAI 600001 F.NO.S.Misc.S4/709/90-Bound-Enq Date: 31.10.2017 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 234/2017 Sub: De-notifying a part of Container Freight Station, Virugambakkam - Regarding ********** Attention of the Steamer Agents, Importers, Exporters and their representatives (Custom House Brokers) is invited to this Custom House Public Notice No. 75/91 dated 07.03.91 declaring the Container Freight Station, Virugambakkam Comprising 23.66 acres as Customs Area for the purpose of examination, unloading/destuffing of all FCC containers containing imported goods and also for loading of export cargo into containers. As per the request of the said CFS, this Commissionerate has de-notified shed No. VII and VIII i.e. covered area 5243 Sq. Meters and open area 6841 Sq. Meters, totally 12084 Sq. Meters(2.986 Acres) vide Public Notice No. 181/2014 dated 02.12.2014 and has de-notified shed No. I and II i.e. covered area of 8360 Sq, Meters and open area of 7588 Sq. Meters, totally 15948 sq. Meters(3.9408 Acres) vide Public Notice No. 101/2016 dated 04.04.2016. Now On the request of M/S Central Warehousing Corporation dated 07.10.2017, I, Dr. Anil K. Nigam, Commissioner of Customs, (Chennai-VIN), Custom House, Chennai, in exercise of powers conferred under section 8(b) of the Customs Act, 1962, de-notify another 11282 Sq. Meters(2.7878 Acres) of Customs area(4180 Sq. Meters of covered area consisting shed No. III and 7102 Sq. Meters of open area) covering under Survey Nos. 205/1 and 206 from handling of any Customs Cargo. After this de-notification of 11282 Sq. Meters (2.7878 Acres), the remaining notified Customs Area in the said CFS is 14570 Sq. Meters of covered area and 41864 Sq. Meters of open area i.e. totally 56734 Sq. Meters(13.945 Acres).
