Misc.326/2017- prev Dated: 11.09.2017 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 223/2017 Subject: - Expansion of 24*7 customs clearance and clarification of levy of MOT charges in Ports under Chennai Customs. Attention of all exporters / importers / customs brokers / clearing agents / steamer agents / shipping agents / trade and industry and public is invited to the circular no. 04/2017- customs, Government of India, Ministry of finance, Department of Revenue (Central Board of Excise Customs) dated 16.02.2017. The Board has vide the above mentioned circular amended the customs (fees for rendering services by the customs officers) regulation, 1998 by clarifying that as on date no MOT charges are required to be collected in respect of the services provided by the customs officers at 24*7 customs ports and airports. Accordingly collection of MOT charges in Port under Chennai Customs (Chennai Port, Kamarajar Port Ennore L T Kattupalli Port) is being dispensed with immediate effect.
