Endorsement on Shipping Bills - Customs - PUBLIC NOTICE No. 14/2017Extract GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF FINANCE, DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS CUSTOM HOUSE, WILLINGDON ISLAND, COCHIN-682009 F.No.S31/ 113/2017 Pr.cus Dated: 03.10.2017 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 14/2017 Sub: Endorsement on Shipping Bills - reg. Attention of Members of the Exim Community, Customs Brokers, Steamer Agents, Consolidators and all other Stake Holders is invited to the issues raised during PTFC and other meetings as regards the requirement of endorsement of the shipping bills as proof of export. 2. On commencement of operation at ICTT, Vallarpadom, the Shipping Bills were endorsed on the basis of mate's receipt issued by the shipping lines and the same is considered as proof of export. Board vide Circular No.56/2016 dated 24.11.2016 has done away with the requirement of mate's receipt in the case of containerised cargo. However, at ICTT Vallarpadom, the endorsement on the shipping bill is being continued. Considering the fact that EGM is the proof of the export of containerised cargo, there may not be any separate requirement of endorsement on the shipping bill except in the case of Bulk cargo as proof of export. 3. It is therefore, decided to dispense with requirement of endorsement on the Shipping Bill in respect of the Containerized Cargo, 4. Difficulties, if any, in this regard may be brought to the notice of the Additional Commissioner, Custom House, Cochin-9. 5. Hindi Version follows. (Pullela Nageswara Rao) Principal Commissioner
