Health Certificate for export of meat & meat products - Customs - Public Notice. 48/2017

OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS CUSTOM HOUSE : PORT AREA : VISAKHAPATNAM 530 035 F.NO.P3/06/2017-A.M Date: 09/11/2017 Public Notice. 48/2017 Sub: Health Certificate for export of meat meat products reg. Attention of all the officers and trade is invited to the above mentioned subject. The export of buffalo meat (ITC HS code 0202) and offals of buffaloes (ITC HS Code 0206) is allowed subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated under the Foreign Trade Policy which also include that meat and meat products for export should be mandatorily be sourced from Agricultural and processed Food Products Export development Authority (APEDA) registered meat processing plants. Further, in order to ensure that each registered plant exports only the authorized quantity of meat and meat products, APEDA has introduced Meat.Net since April, 2015 which is an internet based electronics service for issue of on-line health certificate by the designated state veterinary officer for each export consignment. The Health Certificate bears a QR Code which provides details of the processing plant. The System of on-line issuance of Health Certificate by the designated Veterinary authorities was made mandatory w.e.f 1st April, 2017. In view of the above, trade is informed that only the health certificate issued on-line by the State Veterinary Authorities shall be accepted. This should be ensured by the officers of Customs dealing with clearance of meat meat products and they shall also check the QR Code for authenticity of documents.
