No. EDI-401/2017-18 CC ACC Date: 28.08.2017 FACILITY NOTICE No. 16/2017 Sub: Exemption from levy of amendment fee and charges for late filing of Bill of Entry -Reg. Attention of all the Custom House Brokers, Exporters/ Importers, Trade, Customs Staff and Stakeholders to Facility Notice No. 10/2017 dated 05.07.2017 and Facility Notice no. 13/2017 dated 14.07.2017 wherein the respective Assistant [Deputy Commissioner of the respective sections were given charge of dealing with the request of late filing charges. 2. Due to slow functioning of system from ICEGATE from 22.08.2017 to 26.08.2017, the trade has been facing difficulty in generation of Bills of Entry during the said period. The Bills of Entry are now being generated with Late filing charges for the above mentioned period as laid down vide Circular no. 12/2017-Customs dated 31.08.2017 issued by the Board. 3. As a measure of trade facilitation, it has been decided that the consignments having entry inward dated 22.08.2017 to 26.08.2017, there will be no charge on late presentation of Bill of Entry. However, the Customs Brokers or the importer has to submit evidence to show that efforts were made for submitting a job in ICEGATE for filing Bills of Entry, but no positive acknowledgement was received from ICES for such consignments. Keeping in view the high number, all such cases of waiver of late filing charges pertaining to the above said period would be processed by the respective Deputy Commissioner [Assistant Commissioner of Customs on merits and put up to Joint Commissioner/Additional Commissioner of Customs. 4. Difficulties faced, if any, may be brought to the notice of the undersigned at the earliest. This is issued with the approval of Commissioner of Customs (Import).
