Date: 18-September-2017 PUBLIC NOTICE No.: 18/2017 Sub : Non-requirement of Signature and Stamp of LEO issuing customs officials on the final print-out of Shipping Bills - reg. Kind attention of Exporters, Members of Trade, Custom Brokers, Industry Associations and other Stake holders is invited to, the practice of obtaining signature and stamp of Let Export Order (LEO) Officer on the final Print-out of the Shipping Bills and Public Notice No.28/2016 dated 23.11.2016 clarifying that final print outs of Bills of Entry do not require signature of Customs Officials as the same are computer generated. 2. Representation has been received from the Custom Brokers Association in the Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee meeting regarding dispensing of the present practice of signature/ stamp on the Shipping Bill print out. 3. In this context it is clarified that the final print-out of Shipping Bills, which are generated through Customs EDI system after Let Export Order (LEO) given, is a system generated document. It bears the Name and SSO-ID of the Officer who has given LEO. Therefore the above SBS do not require any signature or stamp of the Officer giving Let Export Order (LEO). 4. In view of the above, it has been decided that henceforth, the signature stamp of the Let Export Order will not be required on the final print-out of the Shipping Bill. 5. Difficulties, if any, faced in the implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the undersigned. (K. RAGHUN.
