Clarifications regarding upload of .GR file in the ICEGATE - Customs - PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 22/2017Extract GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF FINANCE, DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS COMMISSIONERATE VII (AIR CARGO) AIR CARGO COMPLEX, MEENAMBAKKAM, CHENNAI - 600 027 F. No. S.Misc.09/75/2017-Exp. (Air) Dated: 30.10.2017 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 22/2017 Sub: Clarifications regarding upload of .GR file in the ICEGATE The Drawback Section and IGST Refund Section are unable to process Several claims due to EGM error. A study is under taken and it is identified that the errors in the following fields' are noticed in maximum number of cases: 1. Number of package mis-match. 2. Entry of LEO date is later than EGM date and this is happening due to Exporters/Agents are coming for amendment of Shipping Bill and in cases where the SBS are amended then the LEO date is becoming later than the EGM date. 3. In export of perishable cargo, wherever NOC from PGA is required, the officials from PGA department are giving manual clearance, particularly during holidays and after office hours. During the next working day PGA is entering the NOC in the system, which is resulting in the entry of LEO date later than the EGM date. Most of these errors pertaining to package mis-match are happening at the time of registration due to urgency and load in the system during the rush hours. To address the above discrepancies, it is decided that all the Exporters and their Agents should upload the .GR file in the ICEGATE to enable to catch most of the fields automatically so that the officer at the registration of S/Bs need not enter it in the system. This .GR file software can be accessed in respective log in IDs through the RES package in the Website https://ices.nic.in. It is also available in the private software normally being used by exporters for filing Shipping Bills. If some of such private software does not have this .GR file, the exporters are advised to switch over to alternative software or utilize RES package directly. It is also clarified that exporters are required to file. both SB file as well as file. This will ensure the Shipping Bill to be error free. This trade facilitation measure will also reduce the dwell time being consumed during the registration stage. Since this. Commissionerate will very soon make the uploading of .GR file as mandatory, the exporters and their Agents are requested to take up all measure for its urgent implementation. (K. RAGHU N. CHARY) PRINCIPAL COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS COMMISSIONERATE VII (AIR CARGO)
