C. No. II/20/1595/2018-DBK Dated 16.05.2019 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 08/2019 Subject: Special measures for liquidation of pending Drawback claims - Reg. Attention of all exporters, Customs Brokers, Shipping Lines and members of the Trade is drawn to the fact that a large number of Drawback claims are pending in various queues in EDI System in this Commissionerate. It is needless to say that the Department is disbursing duty Drawback claims of the exporters as soon as the Truck Summary (for INTUT6)/ EGM(for INTUTI) is filed in respect of the goods exported. However, in some categories of cases, the release of Drawback gets held up for a long time for want of appropriate action on the part of the exporter/ Customs Brokers /shipping line/custodians. In this backdrop, it is in the interest of the exporters to check and obtain the current status of their Drawback claim immediately after Let Export Order (LEO) and after filing of Truck summary/EGM. The status of Drawback claim against any shipping bill can be seen at the website www.icegate.gov.in along with reason of pendency. 2. However, it has been observed that a large number of Drawback claims are still pending disbursement for want of submission of reply by the exporters to the queries raised and such claims are shown pending in Query Raised to the exporter queue since long. It is to be noted that as soon as the query is replied by the exporter in the EDI system, the claim is immediately processed and Drawback is disbursed by the Department. 3. It has been found that a large number of Drawback claims have been pending in Query Raised queue for very long time (Let export Order prior to 15.11.2018) on account of non-submission of proper reply by the exporters. All such exporters are, therefore, required to reply to the query on. EDI system to the Assistant Commissioner (Drawback), Custom House, Tuticorin on or before 30.06.2019. The exporters or their representatives can also personally explain to the Assistant Commissioner (Drawback) the response to queries during office hours on any working day during the above period 4. If the query is not replied satisfactorily before 30.06.2019 with requisite documents/declarations, the Drawback claim shall be processed as ZERO Drawback for want of proper reply from the exporters to the queries raised. For ready reference of at concerned, list of all pending Drawback claims in -Query Raised queue obtained from the EDI system is attached with this Public Notice as Annexure - l. 5. However, the exporters can file Supplementary drawback claims as per Rule 16 of the Customs and Central Excise Drawback Rules 2017 along with requisite documents/clarifications/self declarations, once the drawback is processed as ZERO 6.
