VIN/ 48/609/2013-Cus.P01 Vol. III Date: 20.06.2019 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 10/2019 Sub: Extension of Public Notice, which expired on 18.06.2019 to another year Attention of all Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers and other members of the Trade is invited to the Public Notice No. 18/2018 dated 18.06.2018 issued by this Office for the empanelment of Chartered Engineers for valuation of Second hand Machinery / goods etc. 2. It is informed that the validity of the said Public Notice, which expired on 18.06.2019, is hereby extended to another one year. All the Chartered Engineers empanelled vide the above referred Public Notice have been permitted to continue in the panel for the extended period and hence the importers/CBs can utilize the services of them as usual. 3. Further, it is proposed to enlarge the present panel by including additional Chartered Engineers in the panel. Hence, fresh applications are invited in the enclosed proforma from the Chartered Engineers(Individual or Company) duly affiliated to and recognized by the Institution of Engineers, India. (The Chartered Engineers already in the panel need not apply, as they have been permitted to continue in the panel). 4. The job requires high degree of professional expertise, integrity and fairness. In the Case of second hand machinery, the Chartered engineers are required to prepare their report as per Circulars/ Instructions issued by CBIC, after verification of goods. The goods may be referred to them for expert opinion on other matters also. The panel shall be valid for a period of one year and will be reviewed thereafter. 5. Copies of relevant certificates issued by the Institution of Engineers, Institute of Valuers, Income Tax Department, Valuation of bank property, Registration Certificate of GST and all certificates of experience may be enclosed. The shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview following which final selection shall be made. 6. On empanelment of chartered engineers , a Public notice will be issued, given the names and addresses of all chartered engineers who can be contacted by the Trade for issue of Chartered Engineer valuation certificate as per CBIC Circular [Instructions. On Selection, such chartered engineers have to submit yearly Self appraisal report to assess their performance so as to decide as to whether they are fit to continue or not. 7. Submission of any wrong information would result in cancellation of candidature/Membership of the panel and also further action as per law. The submission of application does not bestow any right for selection. All the Trade Associations/Chamber of Commerce/ Members of Customs Brokers Associations are requested to publicise the contents of this Notice amongst their members/ constituents. 8. The Public Notice and Proforma can be downloaded from the Website: www.tuticorincustoms.gov.in. The duly filled in applications with all required enclosures should reach the Additional Commissioner of Customs(Policy), Custom House, Tuticorin on or before 30.06.2019. All claims regarding qualification and experience have to be supported completely by certificates and other testimonials as applicable.
