Further attention is also drawn to CBIC Circular No. 42/2013-Cus dated 25.10.13, by which it is required to regularly review the membership of the PTFC. Considering that there have been changes in trade dynamics in this Commissionerate, it has been decided to re-constitute the Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) as had been formed by aforementioned Facility No. 02/2009. It is also provided in the aforementioned circular that PTFCs include local trade and logistics association as well as Customs Brokers association and also that the apex trade bodies attend the PTFC meetings. The Task Force on Indirect Taxes constituted under the Chairmanship of Dr. Vijay Kelkar to make our indirect tax system at par with the best international practices, had recommended solutions to the day-to-day problems associated with the clearance of import and export goods by way of constituting a Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee at each Commissionerate of Customs comprising of senior representatives from other agencies and trade bodies/stakeholders under the Chairmanship of the Commissioner of Customs. The PTFC, as formed by virtue of the above background, will now constitute members as given below, who will meet periodically to discuss the problems faced by the import-export trade, including infrastructural bottlenecks and other related miscellaneous issues that may be highlighted, and attempt to resolve the same and/or highlight the issues to concerned agencies/departments etc. The PTFC of Shillong Customs (P) Commissionerate will consist of the following members till further notice: Sl.No. Stakeholder Address 1 The Commissioner of Customs (P), NER, Shillong Custom House, 110, M.G.
