Date: 21.06.2016 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 20/2016 Sub: Customs - Issue of Export Certificate to frequently travelling International Passengers - reg. Attention of the Trade and Public is invited to this Office Public Notice Nos. 22/2009 dated 26.08.2009 and 32/2012 dated 17.07.2012 on the above subject. 2. As a measure to facilitate the international passengers, export certificates for high value personal items including gold jewellery, the departing passengers, if they intend to bring these items back to India, at the Office of the Assistant Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru International Airport, Bajpe, Mangaluru. 3. In this context, the contents of the said Public Notice No. 22/2009 dated 26.08.2009, are hereby reiterated for the information of the public. It is advised that passengers going abroad may obtain export certificate for jewellery and other high value articles carried by them so that no duty could be paid on the said articles on arrival into India. The jewellery and high value articles to be taken out of the country on departure may be presented before the Customs authorities at Mangalore International Airport well in advance to enable ascertaining of correct value for issue of export certificate. Alternatively, the passengers may provide documents like purchase invoices/valuation certificate issued by the authorized valuer in support of their claim for valuation of jewellery/high value items towards obtaining export certificate. 4. In addition to the existing practice, to further simplify the procedure and to reduce the time taken in issue of such Certificates, the format of export certificate has been made available on the Commissionerate website www.customsmangalore.gov.in under a separate link Export Certificate . Passengers can download the format, fill in all the particulars or enter the particulars directly online and take printed copies of the same. The passengers should carry the same printed copy of Export Certificate, in duplicate, with them to the Airport and present the same to the Officer manning the designated counter for this purpose at the departure level of the Airport.
