III Dated: 10.02.2020 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 10/2020 Subject:- Declaration of correct description along with proper specifications and characteristics for deciding the valuation in imported items like Glass Seed Beads and Faceted Glass Beads . Attention of all the Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, Members of the Trade and all concerned is invited to Section 46 of the Customs Act, 1962. The Bill of entry needs to have complete, clear and explicit description having mention of all the specifications and characteristics with respect to goods in import. However, it has been observed that the correct description along with proper specifications which are key factors to decide their appropriate assessable value is missing in the declaration/ mention in import documents and Bill of Entry. It is therefore expected of all concerned that the correct description along with proper specifications of such items shall be made part of declaration. The specifications as to whether glass beads / seed beads are branded or unbranded; faceted or otherwise; are of specific shape, size and colour or of assorted shape, size and colour; have surface coatings of any type or not is to be made part of declaration in Bill of Entry and import documents. Difficulties faced, if any, in implementation of the said instructions may be brought to the notice of the office of undersigned. The contents of this Public Notice may be brought to the knowledge of the member constituents of the Trade.
