No. S/3-MISC-PRO-13/2018-19/ ACC(I) Date :07.06.2020 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 89/2020 Subject: COVID-19 Facilitation measures-Procedure for assessment in case of non-submission of Original Country of origin Certificates- Amendment to Public Notice No.61/2020 -reg. Attention of the Importers, Trade , Customs Brokers and all the stake holder is invited to Public Notice No.61/2020 dated 09.04.2020, as amended vide PN.71/2020 dated 27.04.2020, issued by this Office on the captioned subject in which relaxation from submission of Original Country of origin Certificates has been allowed subject to compliance of certain conditions specified therein . 2). Board vide Circular No.26/2020-Cus dated 29.05.2020 , has extended the facility of accepting undertaking in lieu of Bond. Public Notice No.56/2020 dated 04.04.2020 issued by this office has been last amended vide Public Notice No.87/2020 dated 30.05.2020, and facility of acceptance of undertaking in lieu of bond has been further extended . 3) Accordingly para. 4 and 5 of said Public Notice No. 61/2020 are being amended as under : Existing para.4: 4.For the purpose of provisional assessment, the importer shall submit a Bond or an Undertaking (in lieu of Bond) in case of eligible categories as mentioned in Board Circular No.17/2020 dated 03.04.2020.---- Amended para.4: 4.For the purpose of provisional assessment, the importer shall submit a Bond or an Undertaking (in lieu of Bond) in case of eligible categories as mentioned in Board Circular No.17/2020 dated 03.04.2020, read with Public Notice No.56/2020 dated 04.04.202 as last amended vide Public Notice No.87/2020 dated 30.05.2020.---- Existing para.5: 5) The Importers availing this facility of provisional assessment shall ensure that the Undertaking furnished in lieu of Bond as per Board Circular No.17/2020-Cus dated 04.04.2020 is duly replaced with a proper Bond on or before the date specified in the said Circular which is presently mentioned as 07.05.2020.----- . Amended para.5: 5) The Importers availing this facility of provisional assessment shall ensure that the Undertaking furnished in lieu of Bond as per Board Circular No.17/2020-Cus dated 04.04.2020 read with Public Notice No.56/2020 dated 04.04.202 as last amended vide Public Notice No.87/2020 dated 30.05.2020 is duly replaced with a proper Bond on or before the date specified therein which is presently mentioned as 30.06.2020.----- . 4) Other content of Public Notice No. 61/2020 dated 09.04.2020 remain unchanged . PN. No.61/2020 stands amended to the extent provided above. 5) All trade associations/members of Customs Brokers Association are requested to take note and publicize the contents of this Public Notice among their members/constituents. 6)For the departmental officers, this may be treated as Standing Order. 7) Difficulty, if any, faced in implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the Additional/Joint Commissioner of Customs, Import, ACC, Mumbai.
