Holding of Zonal Tariff-cum-General Conferences of Collectors of Central Excise - Procedure regarding Circular No. 30/90-CX.3 Dated 15-6-1990 [From F. No. 112/4/90-CX.3] Government of India Central Board of Excise Customs New Delhi Subject : Holding of Zonal Tariff-cum-General Conferences of Collectors of Central Excise - Procedure regarding. Kind attention is invited to Board's instructions issued from time to time in regard to the holding of the Zonal Tariff-cum-General Conference and procedure to be followed by all concerned. Time and again, it has been observed that the instructions aforesaid are not being followed scrupulously, e.g., it has been observed that some of the Collectors who sponsor point(s) for discussion at the Conferences, are not circulating the same to other Collectors within the Zone and to Principal Collectors of Customs Central Excise concerned, Director General (Inspection) with the result that a copy of the brief in question. On the other hand, the Board which receives a limited number of copies for its own use is not in a position to spare a copy of the brief(s). It is, therefore, imperative that due care is taken while sponsoring the point(s) to the effect that copies of such brief(s) are received by all concerned. Besides, copies of the brief(s) should invariably be furnished to Additional Directors General posted in the respective Zones. 2. It has also been observed that the participants sometimes do not reach in time for attending the Conference which is hardly conducive to a fruitful discussion. The Board has, therefore, desired that the participants should chalk out their programmes in such a manner that they are able to reach the venue of the Conference well in time.
