No. 99/1/90-CX.3 Dated 14-2-1990 Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Central Board of Excise Customs, New Delhi Subject : Admissibility of Modvat credit on cut tyres and tubes. I am directed to refer to your letter F. No. V-40(3)1/T/89, dated 2-1-1990 and to say that in the light of the Provisions of Rule 57D(1), the credit of duty paid on inputs contained in the cut tyres and tubes cannot be varied notwithstanding the fact that such cut tyres and tubes are exempt in terms of Notification 76/86-C.E., dated 10-2-1986.
