I am directed to invite your attention to Board's Circular No.15/89 issued vide F.No. 261/76/2/88-CX.8, dated 19-4-1989 permitting clearance of scrap of aluminium generated during the process of manufacture of pistons out of aluminium ingots under Rule 57F(2) for converting the same into the aluminium ingots and return thereof for subsequent manufacture of pistons. These instructions will mutatis mutandis apply in case of zinc scrap arising during the manufacture of zinc products also. This disposes of CCE Pune's letter F. No. V. Misc (30) 5/TB/90/208 dated 11-4-1990. Trade and field formations may be advised accordingly. Receipt of this letter may please be acknowledged.
