No : C-14/2015-RI I Date: 04.08.2023 DISPOSAL NOTICE Subject : 02 gold bars and 02 gold chains (total weight 361.4 gms), confiscated from Mr. Murugaian Selvam on 02.06.2015 at Visakhapatnam . International Airport under O.S. No: 36/2015- Disposal -Reg. Whereas, 02 gold bars and 02 gold chains (total weight: 361.4 gms; Tariff Value: Rs 8,94,664/-; Market Value: 9,80,580/-) were recovered and seized under panchanama dated 02.06.2015 Offence Sheet No: 36/2015 from Shri Murugaian Selvam on 02.06.2015 at Visakhapatnam International Airport for smuggling of the same. Further, Show Cause Notice dated 13.11.2015 was issued and subsequently an Order in Original No. 09/2016 was passed on 12.02.2016; wherein: 02 gold bars and 02 gold chains (total weight: 361.4 gms) were ordered for absolute confiscation under section 111(d), 111(i) and 111(l) of the ; Customs Act, 1962. In addition to that, penalty of Rs.90,000/- was imposed on Shri Murugaian Selvam under the provision of Section 112 (a) (b) of CA, 1962. Aggrieved by the said order, Mr. Murugaian Selvam filed Revision Petition against the OIA No. VIZ-CUSTM-000-APP-125-16-17 dated 28.02.2016 before the R.A. Unit (JS-Review). Addl. Secretary to the Govt. of India (Revision Authority) vide Order No. 348/2022, dated 16.11.2022 uphold the OIA No. VIZ-CUSTM-000-APP- 125-16-17 by rejecting the Revision Application. Now therefore, Shri Murugaian Selvam is hereby informed that the items would be disposed of unless the undersigned receives a legitimate proof document or justification within 15 days of the day this notification was issued. The department shall dispose of the stated commodities in accordance with the established procedure if no response is received within the allotted time. ( M.
