No. VIII/48/03/2020-Cus.Pol Date : 06.02.2024 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 01/2024 Sub : Special measures for liquidation of pending Drawback claims-Reg *********** Please refer to Public Notice No. 03/2023 dated 20.02.2023 issued by this office regarding special measure for liquidation of pending Drawback claims. 2. In this regard, attention of all exporters, Customs Brokers, Shipping Lines and members of the Trade is drawn to the fact that a large number of Drawback claims are pending in various queues in EDI system in this Commissionerate. The department is disbursing duty Drawback claims of the exporters as soon as the Truck Summary (for INTUT6)/ EGM (for INTUT1) is filed in respect of the goods exported. However, in some of cases, the release of Drawback is delayed for a long time for want of appropriate action on the part of the exporter/Customs Brokers/ Shipping line/custodians. In this backdrop, it is in the interest of the exporters to check and obtain the current status of their drawback claim immediately after Let Export Order (LEO) and after filing of Truck summary/EGM. The status of Drawback claim against any shipping bill can be viewed at www.icegate.gov.in along with reason for pendency. 3. However, it has been observed that a large number of Drawback claims are still pending disbursement for want of submission of reply by the exporters to the queries raised and such claims are shown pending in Query Raised to the exporter queue. It is to be noted that as soon as the query is replied by the exporter in the EDI system, the claim is immediately processed and Drawback is disbursed by the Department. 4. It has been found that Drawback claims have been pending in EXPORTER queue ( shipping bill date prior to 01.10.2023 on account of non-submission of reply by the exporters. All such exporters are therefore , required to reply to the query on EDI system to the Assistant commissioner (Drawback ) Customs House , Tuticorin on or before 28.02.2024. the exporter of their representative can also personally explain to the Assistant Commissioner (Drawback) the response to queries during office hours on all working days during the above period. 5. If the query is not replied satisfactorily before 28.02.2024 with requisite documents/declarations, the drawback claims shall be processed as per records available/as per applicable rates. For ready reference of all concerned, list of all pending Drawback claims in Query Raised queue obtained from the EDI system is attached with this Public Notice as Annexure-I. 6.
