A representation has been received from Customs Brokers Association dated on 06.12.2023 on cyclonic storm MICHAUNG hitting Chennai on 4th, 5th and 6th December 2023 and causing widespread disruption in electricity and internet connections, therefore affecting filling of bills of entry with ICEGATE System and seeking late fee waiver. 2. Considering the prevailing situation in Chennai on account of the cyclonic storm, deluge and the aftermath, it is a fact that the trade was facing difficulties in filing bills of entry on account of widespread disruption of power/lack of connectivity. In view of the above, it is hereby decided to waive Late Fee for the Bills of Entry filed for the cargo arrived on Aircraft at Chennai Air Cargo/Airport from 05/12/2023 to 07/12/2023 in terms of Section 46 (3) of the Customs Act, 1962 read with Regulation (4) of Bill of Entry (Electronic Integrated Declaration and Paperless Processing) Regulations, 2018. 3. This Public Notice shall be considered as a Standing Order for the purpose of officers and staff of the Department. 4.
