No. CUS/AG/PN/4/2025-POL Date : 20-02-2025 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 06/2025 Subject - Changes in the system to request for Provisional assessment of bills of entry by Importers - Reg. ********** Attention of all the Authorized Sea Carriers (ASC), Authorized Sea Agents (ASA), other entities/stakeholders and member of the Trade under the jurisdiction of Custom House, New Harbour Estate, Tuticorin, is invited to Advisory No 08/2025 dated 31.01.2025 issued by DGoS, ICES on the above subject, wherein Changes are incorporated in the system to request for Provisional assessment of bills of entry by Importers. 2. In this connection, necessary changes have been made in the System for importers to request for provisional assessment at the time of filing of bill of entry, so that there is no requirement to recall RMS facilitated bill of entry. 3. A new field Prov has been provided in the system to request for provisional assessment of bill of entry. The importers/CHA while filing Bill of Entry has to mark this field as Y to request for provisional assessment of bill of entry at the time of filing through service center. The same facility will be available on ICEGATE website in due course. Copy of screenshots of the above flag is attached as Annexure to this Public Notice. 4. In this regard, all the stakeholders are advised to acquaint themselves of with the new functionality and intimate the concerned Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs about the difficulties faced if any in this regard. Also, they shall approach the concerned Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs, in case of any genuine difficulty faced with errors related to system, if any, for further escalation with DG Systems. 5. The Deputy/Assistant Commissioners of Customs will ensure that all the stakeholders and officers under them are following the new functionality. They should escalate the system related errors to Deputy Director, DG Systems under intimation to Joint Commissioner, EDI. AC (EDI) will be the Nodal Officer for the above facility and Officers facing any difficulties or issues may email to [email protected]. Traders facing any problems may contact ICEGATE helpdesk at [email protected]. 6. This Public Notice shall be considered as Standing Order for the purpose of officers and staff of the Department. 7.
