Permission under Rule 57F(2) - Regarding Circular No. 56/88 Dated 31-10-1988 [From F. Attention is invited to Para 3 of F.No. B. 22/8/86-TRU, dated 10-4-1986 whereby instructions regarding permission for removal of inputs under Rule 57F by a general order for which individual manufacturer has been issued. It has been brought to the notice of the Board that despite the above instructions, certain Collectorates are insisting upon taking prior permission for each removal of inputs to a job worker. It is therefore again impressed upon all that in cases where the inputs are removed to the same job worker, general permission may be given to the manufacturer to remove the goods under Rule 57F(2) and no prior permission consignment-wise should be required. However for each job worker separate permission would be required before removal of goods. Field formations may be suitably informed. Suitable trade notice may be issued for the benefit of the trade.
