Spot verification of goods before issue of subsidiary gate pass - Clarification regarding Circular No. 4/87-CX.6 Dated 13-1-1987 [From F. No. 211/67/86-CX.6] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Central Board of Excise Customs, New Delhi Subject : Spot verification of goods before issue of subsidiary gate pass - Clarification regarding I am directed to invite your attention to para 6 of Board's letter F. No. 1/3/69.CX.6, dated 12th June, 1970, regarding instructions relating to issue of subsidiary gate passes. 2. Doubts have been raised whether only duty paying documents are to be verified or the actual verification of the goods is also required to be done by the proper officer before the issue of subsidiary gate passes. 3. The matter has been examined by the Board. The Board is of the view that the duty paid goods should be verified totally the description, Marks and Numbers etc. shown on duty paying documents and packages so as to establish correlation before issue of the subsidiary gate pass, so that any misuse of subsidiary gate pass facility could be avoided. 4. The above instructions may be brought to the notice of the field formations. Receipt of this letter may please be acknowledged.
