As a result of the Deemed Credit Order F. No. 332/30/87-TRU, dated 2-11-1987 read with the Notification No. 246/87-Central Excise, dated 2-11-1987, the deemed credit facility has been restricted to primary metal and to waste and scrap of non-ferrous metals. Notification No. 246/87-Central Excise amends existing notifications relating to waste and scrap of non-ferrous metals so as to restrict the exemption only to such waste and scrap in respect of which the credit on the input from which such scrap has been generated has not been taken or if taken, has been debited back. 2. It may please be noted that, as far as the primary metal is concerned, deemed credit has been restricted to such stock as lying with the manufacturer on or after 1-3-1986, and in respect of waste and scrap of non-ferrous metals, the deemed credit facility has been given only in respect of stock lying with the manufacturer on or after 2-11-1987.
