In supersession of Board's earlier instructions issued vide F. No. B. 14/1/77-TRU, dated 5-8-1977 on the subject, I am directed to say that the Board has decided that a tolerance of (i) ± 5 % upto 405 3% for 405 above, in respect of cotton yarn; and (ii) ± 5% in respect of cellulosic spun yarn, may be allowed in the count of yarn for error in spinning, sampling and testing of such yarns for the purpose of assessment of Central Excise Duty.
