DEPB Scheme: Format for issue of Duty Entitlement Passbook - DGFT - 02/97-98

Policy Circular No. 02/97-98 Dated 10.4.97 Sub: DEPB Scheme: Format for issue of Duty Entitlement Passbook. 1. Attention is invited to paragraph 7.25 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002 which provides that under the Duty Entitlement Passbook Scheme, an exporter shall be eligible to claim credit as specified percentage of FOB value of exports made in freely convertible currency. 2. The DEPB licence shall be issued by using the existing IMPORT/EXPORT LICENCE forms already available with the licensing authorities. The DEPB licence on pre-export and post-export basis shall be issued in the format enclosed. 3. The items not appearing in the Negative List of imports are allowed for imports under DEPB Scheme.
