Export of Sugar from the free sale quota of 1996-97 Sugar Season (Oct. -Sept.) - DGFT - 03/(RE-97)/1997-1998Extract POL CIR NO. 03/(RE-97)/1997-1998 Dated 22-4-1997 Export of Sugar from the free sale quota of 1996-97 Sugar Season (Oct. -Sept.) Attention is invited to the entry at S. No.25 of Schedule 2 Appendix 1 of the book titled "ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items 1997 -2002" and Export Instruction No. 17/96-97 dated 13th February, 1997 releasing the ceiling of 2,50,000 (two lakhs fifty thousand) MTs for export of Sugar from the free sale quota of 1996-97 during the period of 1 st October, 1996 to 30th September, 1997 as per procedure to be specified by APEDA. 2. It has now been decided to enhance the quantity of 20,000 (twenty thousand) MTs of Sugar earmarked for export by M/s. Indian Sugar General Industry Export Import Corporation (ISGIEIC) Ltd. to a quantity of 35,000 (thirty five thousand) MTs for export to European Union (EU) and USA under the preferential arrangements as per the details indicated below: - 1. European Union (EU) (a) White Sugar 10,000 MTs (b) Raw Sugar 10,500 MTs 2. U.S.A. Raw Sugar 15,000 MTs 3. The Indian Sugar General Industry Export Import Corporation (ISGIEIC) Ltd. shall be the sole agency authorised to export Raw/White Sugar to the European Union and USA against the preferential ceiling as indicated above. The export of above quantity of Raw/White Sugar to the European Union and the USA under the preferential arrangements as indicated above shall also be subject to prescribed pre-shipment certification by the Export Inspection Council. 4. The overall quantity ceiling of 2,50,000 (two lakh fifty thousand) MTs for export of Sugar from the free sale quota of 1996-97 Sugar Season i.e. from the period of 1 st October, 1996 to 30th September, 1997 and also the other terms and conditions of the above referred Export Instruction No.17/96-97 dated 13th February, 1997 shall remain unchanged.
