As per the requirement of section 5(1) and 5(2) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 and in view of the jurisdiction of Service Tax Commissionerate, Delhi defined under Notification No.4/2/2004-ST dated 18.05.2004, the incumbent Deputy / Assistant Commissioners in the Divisions of Service Tax are designated as Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) in respect of their Divisions and Joint /Additional Commissioner incharge of Divisions are designated as Appellate Authorities in respect of respective Divisions of Service Tax Commissionerate, New Delhi. Further the incumbent Deputy /Assistant Commissioner in the office of the Commissioner Service Tax, Delhi are also designated as Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) in respect of their charges allocated to them and the Joint / Additional Commissioner are designated as Appellate Authority in respect of their respective charges. The incumbent Administrative Officers are designated as CPIO (with respect to their charge) for matters related to Administration and Establishment, which are dealt by the Administration Section. Superintendent (Vigilance) is also designated as CPIO for Vigilance Section Deputy / Assistant Commissioner (Tech) is additionally designated as CPIO (Coordinator). He shall be responsible for allocating / forwarding applications received in the Commissionerate to respective CPIO(s), who shall give the information or take necessary action themselves. In case of overlapping requests the CPIO (Coordinator) shall deal them in totally or may send the application to all relevant Section / Division with specific instructions regarding the RTI Application for all residual matter Dy /Asstt Commissioner (Tech) shall be the CPIO and Joint /Addl Commissioner (Tech) shall be the Appellate Authority for CPIO (Coordinator).
