Licences bought from market - Buyer to take requisite precaution - Customs - 45/2009Extract Licences bought from market - Buyer to take requisite precaution Public Notice No. 45/2009 Dated 24-7-2009 Attention of all Importers, Custom House Agents and the members of the Trade is invited to Hon'ble Supreme Court Order in the case of Commissioner of Customs (Preventive) v. Aafloat Textiles (I) P. Ltd. reported 2009 (235) E.L.T 587 (S.C.) = [2009 -TMI - 33083 - SUPREME COURT] 2. In the instant case the Hon'ble Court has held that it is the duty of the buyer to remain cautious, make enquiry and take requisite precaution before buying licences from open market. If he does not do, consequences have to follow. 3. In terms of above, all concerned who buy licences including all types of licences from open market whether SIL, DEPB, DFIA, DFRC or otherwise are hereby informed to exercise caution, make enquiry and take requisite precaution before the purchase of such licences.
