Allotment of Income-tax verification certificate registration/ Exemption Numbers by the licensing authorities. - Income Tax - 352/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 352/CBDT Dated: December 7, 1971 It has been reported by Chief Controller of Imports and Exports, New Delhi that in a large number of cases, all columns of the Income-tax Verification certificate are not either filled in by the applicant or by the ITO concerned with the result that the Import Trade control authorities have to enter into correspondence with the applicants/ITOs and this delays the allotment of Income-tax verification certificate registration/ Exemption Numbers by the licensing authorities. You are therefore requested to issue instructions to ITOs to ensure before accepting applications that they are properly and completely filled in. It may also be ensured that ITOs fill in all the columns which are intended to be filled in by them in the Income Tax Verification certificate and also affix their signature wherever necessary.
