INSTRUCTION NO. 1504/CBDT Dated: March 18, 1983 Section(s) Referred: 143(1) Statute: Income - Tax Act, 1961 The Board had appointed a Committee to examine the progress of Summary Assessment Scheme. The Committee has, interalia, suggested that, as far as possible, priority should be given for posting of qualified Inspectors to assessment work. 2. The Board have accepted this suggestion of the Committee in principle. It is, therefore, requested that every possible effort may be made to post only qualified Inspectors on assessment job. However, if the Commissioner feels that it is not possible to post a qualified Inspector on assessment work, the fact may please be brought to the notice of the Board.
