Modification of Instruction No.1653. - Income Tax - 1707/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1707/CBDT Dated: April 17, 1986 Reference is invited to Instruction No. 1653 dated 15.10.1985 on the above subject. It is observed that certain typographical mistakes have crept in Annexure-A of the Instruction. Accordingly, the Instructions are modified as under :- (i) Against column B2 of Part-I of the statement the column wise Instruction regarding source record are "Adopt figures from Item 7(b) (ii) of Part-V-B-Current of the MPR (IT)". The reference to Item 7(b) (ii) of Part-V-B of MPR (IT) is wrong as it should be Item 7(b) (i). Accordingly, the revised Instructions may read "Adopt figures from item 7(b) (i) of Part-V-b Current of MPR(IT)". (ii) Against column B6 (ii) of Part-I of the statement the Instructions are "Adopt figures from Col. 7(b)(i) and Col. 5(b) of Part-V of MPR (IT)." Col 7(b) (i) has wrongly been mentioned and the source record for filling up Col. B6 (ii) should be Col. 5(b) of Part-V(b) of MPR (IT) only. Accordingly the revised Instructions in this regard should read "Adopt figures from Col. 5(b) of Part-V-B of current of MPR (IT)." (iii) Certain omissions have occurred after Item B6 (iii) of Part-I of the statement. These columns should read as under :- Particulars Instructions for filling ----------- ------------------------- "(iii) Total Totals of Col.6(1)and Col.6(ii) above. 7. Balance (5 minus 6(iii) Col.5 ninus Col.6(iii) of this statement. C. Total of arrears and Current demand Col.A(5) puls Col.B(7) of this outstanding at the end of the quarter statement. (A5 + B7) 3. These clarifications may be brought to the notice of all concerned.
