Clarification with regard to appeals by Comm.(A). - Income Tax - 1724/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1724/CBDT Dated: August 21, 1986 Some suggestions were received from field officers in respect of revised quota for disposal of appeals by Commissioner (Appeals) prescribed by Instruction N. 1689 dated February, 1986 for the financial year 1986-87. These suggestions were considered by the Board. The Board has decided that the existing instructions do not require any modifications. As regards weightage equivalent to 1-1/2 ordinary appeals for Company Circle appeal, the Board desired it to be clarified that this weightage will be available in respect of ALL Company appeals whether they are in Company Circle or not and this weightage will NOT be available in respect of non-company appeals arising from orders passed in Company Circle.
