Central Government rescinds the Notification No. S.O. 39 (E) dated 15.01.2007 and S.O. 253 (E) dated 03.02.2010 - S.O. 663(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 13th February, 2018 S.O. 663(E).- Whereas, M/s. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a Sector Specific Special Economic Zone for Agro Processing at MIDC, District Latur in the State of Maharashtra; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified and de-notified the following areas at above Special Economic Zone as per details given below:- S.No. Notification No. Date Notified Area in Hectares Denotified Area in Hectares Total Area in Hectares (i) S.O. 39 (E) 15.01.2007 200 - 200 (ii) S.O. 253 (E) 03.02.2010 - 61 139 AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has now proposed to de-notify the entire area of 139 hectares area of the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Maharashtra has given its No objection to the proposal vide letter No. SEZ-2005/CR-1074/Ind-2 dated 18.05.2017; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, SEEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of the entire area of 139 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
