Exemption u/s 35AC - Central Government had specified for Gift of Vision, Phase-II-rural outreach eye care programme with emphasis on eye care of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust, Natraj Hospital by Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust, Coimbatore, as an eligible project or scheme NOTIFICATION NO. 31(E) DATED 10-1-2001 Whereas by notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance Number S.O. 740(E), dated the 12th October, 1994 issued under clause ( b ) of the Explanation to section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Government had specified at serial number 7, Gift of Vision, Phase-II-rural outreach eye care programme with emphasis on eye care ; preventable and communicable diseases like AIDS ; maternal and child care ; small family norm and tuberculosis-identification and furnishing of additions to the existing building of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust, Natraj Hospital at Sarvanampatti, Coimbatore and construction of quarters of "A" and "B" type for the trust, by Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust, 77, West Ponnurangam Road, R. S. Puram, Coimbatore-641 002, as an eligible project or scheme for a period of three years beginning with the assessment year 1995-1996, which has extended further vide Notification No. S. O. 269(E), dated 27th March, 1997 for a period of three years commencing from the assessment year 1998-99 ; And whereas the said project or scheme is likely to extend beyond six years ; And whereas the National Committee, being satisfied that the said project or scheme is being executed properly, made a further recommendation under sub-rule (5) of rule 11M of the Income-tax Rules, 1962, for specifying the said project or scheme for a further period of three years ; Now, therefore, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) read with clause ( b ) of the Explanation, to section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), hereby specifies the scheme or project of Gift of Vision, Phase-II-rural outreach eye care programme with emphasis on eye care ; preventable and communicable diseases like AIDS ; maternal and child care; small family norm and tuberculosis-identification and furnishing of additions to the existing building of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust, Natraj Hospital at Sarvanampatti, Coimbatore and construction of quarters of "A" and "B" type for the trust, which is being carried out by Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Medical Trust,77, West Ponnurangam Road, R. S. Puram, Coimbatore-641 002, at the estimated cost of rupees one crore fifty eight lakhs seventy four thousand, as an eligible project or scheme for a further period of three years commencing from the assessment year 2001-2002.
