GOVERNMENT OF KERALA Taxes (B) Department NOTIFICATION G.O.(P) No.204/2019/TAXES. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 19th December, 2019 3rd Dhanu, 1195 S. R. O. No. 987/2019 In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-rule (2) of rule 123 of the Kerala Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, the Government of Kerala hereby nominate the Joint Commissioner-1, Kerala State Goods and Services Tax Department, Thiruvananthapuram and the Joint Commissioner, Central Taxes and Central Excise, Thiruvananthapuram as members in the State Level Screening Committee constituted as per notification issued under G.O.P) No.115/2017/TAXES. dated 25 th September, 2017 and published as S.R.O. No. 581/2017 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 2072 dated 25th September, 2017 and make the following consequential amendment to the said notification, namely:- AMENDMENT In the said notification,- (i) in item (a), for the symbols, letters and words Sri. K.R. Uday Bhaskar, IRS, Commissioner , the words Joint Commissioner shall be substituted; (ii) in item (b), for the symbols, letters and words Sri. Inbasekar K, IAS, Joint Commissioner , the words, symbol and figure Joint Commissioner-1 shall be substituted By order of the Governor, R. RAJAGOPAL., Additional Secretary to Government. Explanatory Note (This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.) The members of State Level Screening Committees were appointed by the name of the members alongwith their designation. Such appointment of members by their name is causing delay in the smooth functioning of the Screening Committee, as every time an officer is transferred, a new member has to be nominated, by amending the notification. In order to avoid such situation, the Government of Kerala have decided to nominate Joint Commissioner-1, Kerala State Goods and Services Tax Department, Thiruvananthapuram and Joint Commissioner, Central Taxes and Central Excise, Thiruvananthapuram as members in the State Level Screening Committee constituted as per notification issued under G.O.(P) No.115/2017/TAXES. dated 25th September, 2017 and published as S.R.O. No. 581/2017 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 2072 dated 25th September, 2017. The notification is intended to achieve the above object.
