Special Economic zone in the State of Tamil Nadu - area of 215.2600 hectares denotified thereby making resultant notified area as 803.9650 hectares. - S.O. 4577 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 27th September, 2022 S.O. 4577(E). - Whereas, M/s. AMRL Hitech City Limited (formerly M/s. AMRL International Tech City Limited), had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a Multi-Product Special Economic Zone at Therkku Nanguneri, Puliyurkurichi, Madam Alankulam, Vepankulam and Rajakkalamangalam Villages, Nanuneri Taluk, Triunelveli District in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , notified an area of 1019.225 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Gazette Notification Number S.O. 2690 (E) dated 18th November, 2008 ; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. AMRL Hitech City Limited (formerly M/s. AMRL International Tech City Limited) has now proposed for de-notification of 215.2600 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. 1254/MIE.2/2022-2, dated 21st March, 2022; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 215.2600 hectares of the Special Economic Zone. Further, after de-notification, the land would be used as Industrial park for DTA; NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 215.2600 hectares, thereby making resultant notified area as 803.9650 hectares.
