Special Economic Zone for Aviation at Village Mamidipally, District Ranga Reddy in the State of Telangana - de-notifies an area of 8.90. - S.O. 5682 (E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ DIVISION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th December, 2022 S.O. 5682(E).- WHEREAS, M/s. GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Limited (Formerly M/s. GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited) a private organisation in the State of Telangana, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Aviation at Village Mamidipally, District Ranga Reddy in the State of Telangana; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 101.92 hectares and de-notified an area of 8.92 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification numbers S.O. 2637(E) dated 20th October, 2009 and S.O. 883(E) dated 24th March, 2014, respectively; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government, vide letter No. F.1/12/2007-SEZ dated 3rd March, 2010 conveyed the approval for transfer of formal approval from M/s. GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited to M/s. GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Limited; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government, vide letter No. F.1/12/2007-SEZ dated 8th August, 2011, conveyed the approval for change of Sector of the SEZ from Aviation to SEZ in an existing Airport ; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. GMR Hyderabad Aviation SEZ Limited, has now proposed for denotification of 8.90 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone. Further, as per the Developer, the proposed de-notification area will be used for industrial purpose and M/s. Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd. intends to use the proposed de-notification area for manufacturing Assembly unit of electrical devises and components mainly related to vacuum switching equipment; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Telangana has given its No Objection to the proposal vide letter No. 2719/IP INF/A2/2022 dated 13.09.2022; AND WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 8.90 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 8.90 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 84.10 hectares.
